Rhombicuboctahedron Wood Model

This is an all wood model of a Rhombicuboctahedron.

The Rhombicuboctahedron is one of the 13 Archimedes Solids. It has 18 squares, 8 triangles, 24 vertices and 48 pieces of wood. I compound miter each piece on 3 axis, so that every surface is on an imaginary plane that passes thru the center point. In that way, the edges visually align with its parallelĀ corresponding edge on its opposite side.

The wood is pine, stained in fruitwood (light, shown), walnut (dark), cherrywood (red), or ebony (black).

I make these in either 9″ (shown) or 12″ tall.
